I am Johnny Stout and I’d like to thank you for your interest in STOUT FINE HANDMADE KNIVES.

My Motivation

After almost a lifetime of being a knife lover and user, both as a sportsman and novice repairman, I began making knives in 1983, and became a full-time maker in 1992. This site is intended to show the versatility and quality of my work, and is not inclusive of all models that I offer. The knives shown in the Knife Gallery are but a few of my Heirloom Quality designs and most are available in right or left handed models.

My Technique

Using ancient and exotic, as well as state of the art materials, I offer many fine folding knives with various locking mechanisms, to include lockback, automatic, and my specialty, Gents’ Fine Linerlock Folders, as well as various fixed blade designs. In my one man shop, each knife is built by me, one at a time, and made from a variety of  steels: carbon, stainless, and damascus…customers are welcome to choose their favorite. I remain committed to a highest level of attention to detail that is hard to find in the world today.

Business Policies

Customer designs are accepted on a commission basis. I’ll work with you to make it to suit your style and specifications. With a required 20% deposit, as a convenience to my clients, I offer a lay-away plan to purchase any knife in stock. Several major credit cards are also welcome, credit card fees apply. To order, you can either E-mail, call, or snail-mail me with the model that you want. If it is not in inventory, a deposit will be taken and I will give you a tentative date of shipment. So that you may have an opportunity to purchase a knife from me without having to wait, I set aside time to make pieces that will be offered directly via my web site that will be available for immediate delivery, and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.  If you are interested in purchasing the knife, or want additional information, call me at 830-606-4067.

You can also buy personalized products with the Stout Handmade Knives logo by going to Stout Knives Gear.
